Become a Volunteer

Volunteers are an essential component of St. Mary’s Villa for Children and Families.

St. Mary’s Villa for Children and Families encourages committed individuals to donate their time by becoming a volunteer.

Volunteers can make a difference in the life of a child in a variety of ways – either by working directly with a resident or by assisting in the operations of the facility.

The professional staff of St. Mary’s Villa for Children and Families provides compassionate care in a safe and loving environment. But many of the children would benefit from additional support. A number of residents are between the ages of 13 and 18 and are in need of adult mentoring. A volunteer can have a tremendous impact at this critical time in a child’s life. Individuals and families can provide interesting and rewarding experiences in a variety of ways.

Off-site Volunteers:

  • Host Family/Parents offer a family style setting for a child to experience.
  • Mentors spend one-on-one time with a child as a positive role model.
  • Holiday Buddies share the joy of the holidays with a child.

On-site Volunteers:

  • Apartment Aide Volunteers lend a hand in one of the residential apartments.
  • Tutorial Volunteers help children with homework assignments or tutor them in a particular area of need.
  • Special Interest Volunteers assist with cooking, arts and crafts, music, dance, sports or other areas involving unique personal skills and talents.
